What is your name as you would like it to appear in the byline for your article? 2. What is your proposed title? (Please keep in mind that titles should be simple, encyclopedia-type titles, like Henry II, The Council of Clarendon, The Becket Controversy, etc. For entries about particular works, please use the author's name followed by the work, e.g., Anselm's Ontological Proof or John of Salisbury's Polycraticus. For entries about particular theological points belonging to a thinker, please use the author's name followed by the word on and then the issue in question, e.g., Thomas Aquinas on the Trinity or Christine de Pisan on Joan of Arc.) 3. Please provide an abstract outlining the main points of your article, or if you prefer, include the complete article here. (If you wish to submit proposals for several related articles, you may list them individually here, rather than filing separate forms for each. 4. If you are a first-time contributor to ORB, please provide a brief biography as you would like it to appear in the Contributors' Index in the event that your article is accepted. (Your biography must begin with your name as written under 1 above. It should be written in the third person. Include mention of any particular qualifications that make you an authority on your topic(s). Include your institutional affiliation, if applicable. (See sample biographies below.) Your biography is considered by the Editorial Board when making decisions, so please take it seriously. You may also include links to your own homepage and/or your institutional affiliation in your biography. If you should choose to do so, please provide the necessary URLs.) 5. If your article is accepted, you will be given an invitation to join the Editorial Board of ORB. The Editorial Board's principal role is to accept or reject article proposals for the encyclopedia, though some Board members may opt for a higher level of involvement. The Board is administrated over email. If your article is accepted, will you wish to join the Editorial Board? (If you answer yes to this question, your name will be added to the mailing list orbit-l".) 6. If your article is accepted, you will have the option of maintaining your article for yourself. Will you wish to maintain your article yourself? (If you answer no to this question, the Editorial Board will find someone to maintain your article for you.) 7. Do you agree that your article will be formatted according to the layout designated for ORB? 8. If you opt to maintain your article yourself, do you agree to update your article on a regular basis to reflect new links, if necessary? 10. Do you agree to retaining your own copyright under the following rubric: Copyright (C) 1995, Author Name. This file may be copied on the condition that the entire contents, including the header and this copyright notice, remain intact. 11. Do you welcome questions, comments and/or observations about your article from ORB readers?
